ART BLAST 2012  Networking PD

When: Wednesday 31 October, 2012 –  4.30 to 6.45pm.

NB: The exhibition remains open to the public until 7.00pm.

Where: at the Fremantle Town Hall

What: Art Blast is the Education Week showcase for the South Metro Education Region featuring art work from 33 Primary and Secondary schools, in the main exhibition; a Projection display (only on opening night) and a Wearable Art display.

Report: A large group of mainly Primary art teachers plus some very keen pre-service teachers joined together for an inspiring sharing session at the Fremantle Town Hall, followed by further enthusiastic discussion about Primary art education at dinner afterwards. Thanks once again goes to those generous teachers who were involved in the Exhibition who happily shared their inspirations and handy hints on how to make a project manageable. See a small selection below of the depth and breadth of K – 12 artworks on show.

Cost: Free to ArtEd members and teachers at Exhibiting Schools

$10 for non members

How: Sign in anytime from 4.30pm – some delicious nibbles and drinks for refreshments included, then time to browse by yourself and get a feel for the depth and breadth of the exhibition. Bring your cameras, notebooks and whatever else to help you start planning your next year’s program. 5.00pm gather for an informal tour to enable the sharing of ideas and knowledge until 6.30pm, then time to continue browsing until 7.00pm, before heading off to dinner if interested.

EXTRA???: There is an opportunity for anyone interested to gather afterwards for dinner somewhere in Fremantle after the exhibition closes at 7.00pm. Let me know as you RSVP if you are interested – more details as we find out numbers. Dinner would be at your own cost of course – most likely the same as the last two years at the Istanbul where they do great pides.

RSVP: by Monday 29 October to Pauline O’Brien at obees@upnaway.com
