ArtEd sponsored a workshop with Life Drawing teacher Camilla Loveridge at Central Institute of Technology on the 28th March 2015. Thank you members for supporting this workshop!
The purpose of this workshop was to introduce adults to a free, gestural style in drawing the human form from life. Participants experienced rendering an undraped female model in a variety of drawing materials. The workshop encouraged participants to break down any negative barriers they may have regarding their drawing/expressive abilities and offered an enjoyable and liberating drawing experience, whilst also inspiring participants in the use of sensitive line and subtle mark-making. Reproduced “nudes” of both historical and contemporary significance were referred to throughout the workshop with reference to style, technique and sub-text.
Tutor: Camilla Loveridge
Camilla is herself a practicing Visual Artist with a particular passion for life drawing. She is also a qualified High school teacher with 25 years teaching experience. Camilla has conducted many life drawing classes over the past few years to students of varying abilities.
