www.kaboomtoons.com

The website is an online portfolio of my work for you to view and for kids to get involved through colouring in competitions to download and maybe win the monthly prizes from our supporters, Faber Castell. Kids can also submit their own artwork at the Kids Page here in the Gallery. Artwork that I think needs recognition and to showcase their talents.

About Jason Trevenen

I previously worked in Sydney for 8 years with the Walt Disney Animation Australia Studio. I was an Inbetween Character Lead, which basically means I created the drawing that make the character move or do the ‘inbetween’ drawings. I am credited with working on 12 ‘traditional’ animated films including Lion King 3 and Peter Pan-Return to Neverland as well as sequels to Brother Bear, Lilo and Stitch, Jungle Book and Bambi.

Now back in WA, I conduct cartoon workshops with kids, helping to teach basic drawing principles and develop skills they may already have. The workshops are available after school during each term for 8 consecutive weeks, during the school holidays and I also can come to your child’s school to conduct incursion classes for the kids.

Hope this helps you James.

Dear Sir/Madam

I am part of a TAGS Maths Program at Leeming Primary School.
For a challenge we have to design a project for the community in the school.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could please give me a quote for an artist who specialises in cartoon drawings.

Sincerely,
James Oliver (TAGS Student)

What a fantastic sharing session we had at Harmony PS. Thanks to Sarah for organising, Trish for hosting and Cheryl for catering with yummy fairy cakes! Cheryl is survivng - just - the hassles involved in her art room almost burning down - including the destruction of some art works on exhition at the time :(

The highlight though was the willingness of all 9 participants to share ideas, experiences, resources, unit outlines... We came away inspired thinking (almost) that there weren't enough weeks left in the year to make use of all of the great lessons. But... there's always next year :) once the Chinese New Year of the OX activities are out of the way!

Amongst the gems were felting with juniors - just gorgeous, some great books - Handmade Prints looked great!, art therapy, architectural beauties, pirates anyway you want to do it, summer - sun, sand and thongs, super heroes, John Coburn inspired sun collages and so it went on. Kicking yourself for missing it?

This group is so eager, we have already set a date for Week 8 Term 1 for the next sharing session and were tossing around ideas for some great PD and 'working together in the back shed' scenarios.

The Primary ArtEd network is alive and well down in the South metro - come on down and join us next time - let Sarah know you are interested so she can join you to her network list on shannah@pcacs.wa.edu.au

Watching Kim Lyons throw a 10kg lump of clay into a beautiful pot was just awesome. He made it seem so effortless. A visit to the Picnic Hill Pottery if you are ever up Toodyay way is a bonus. Sarah loved her personal tuition session and threw a very worthwhile pot on her second attempt... while the rest of us roamed around the property after our shared picnic lunch, checking out the 360 degree views - wonderful. Thanks Jeanette and Kim for hosting this great ArtEd sharing session.
