A Sub Committee meeting was held at Pauline’s on Monday 23 August, 2010. Sections containing Rules 1 – 4, Rules 5 – 9 and Rules 20 – 25 are now close to being complete. You may access these modifications (click above) if you are interested in seeing what we have come up with so far. NB: All is still in DRAFT form, so feel free to give feedback.

We have now moved onto Rules 10 – 15 re Committee Management, modifying the various forms required by the Rules and finally will be looking at Rules 16 – 19 re General Meetings. Read on for the Minutes posted on 29 August, 2010.

An ArtED Network gathering at the

IPSHA Art Exhibition 2010

“Communicating culture through the arts”

All Primary and Secondary Arts Educators and classroom teachers

are invited to a joint network session at the biennial Art Exhibition

of the Independent Primary School Heads of Australia (WA).

What: An opportunity to network with arts colleagues, view the exhibition and discuss the techniques, materials and inspirations on display in this exhibition of primary school artworks from 26 Independent Primary Schools.

Where: Methodist Ladies College

Hadley Hall, Middle School.

356 Stirling Highway, Claremont

When: 4.30 – 6.30pm

Wednesday 1 September

Sign up from 4.30pm onwards and enjoy an afternoon tea provided by ArtED. NB: The Exhibition is also open to the public until 7.30pm on the night.

Cost: Members and participating schools – free.

Non-Members – $5 to cover catering. You may join up on the day.

OPTIONAL: If interested, a group will also be going out to dinner after 6.30pm. (NB: at your own cost) Please indicate to Jeanette when you RSVP if you are interested in also going on to dinner, so that we can find an appropriately sized venue close by. eg: Lo Zucchero, Warratah Ave, Nedlands. Toodyay PitFiring Weekend

Date: 2.00pm Saturday 21 / Sunday 22 August at Toodyay.

Bring: Bring lots of bisque fired pots ready to fire and your creative spirit.

BYO: BBQ Meat for Saturday Night, Drinks. Salads and bread supplied.

Also Bring: Own bedding such as a Swag or Tent and be ready for a night of fun. It may be raining so be ready for rain and cold. The fire, food, company and wine will warm your spirit. A Torch to find your way.

Supplied: Sunday BBQ breakfast, Pit Firing artistic effects such as oxides, salt, copper wire etc. Salads and bread for BBQ Saturday evening.

Limited accommodation inside. Lots of room for Tents and campervans. Shower and toilets available. Flyer

Toodyay pre PitFiring workshop

You are invited to Wesley College ceramics studio on the 31^st of July to create ceramic pieces prior to the Pit-firing weekend in Toodyay (which will be held over the weekend of the 21/22 August.).

Wheel throwing and bisque firing facilities will be provided (work needs to be fired prior to the Pit-firing), however, you will need to bring your own Raku clay and lunch..

Even if you are not going to attend the Toodyay weekend, come along and create something anyway.
