Throwing Pots at Toodyay

What a great day it was at the Picnic Hill Pottery up at Toodyay. Kim Lyons, the owner of this commercial pottery happily shared information and handy hints on the many aspects involved in creating hand crafted clay items to order.

Watching Kim Lyons throw a 10kg lump of clay into a beautiful pot was just awesome. He made it seem so effortless. Sarah loved her personal tuition session and threw a very worthwhile pot on her second attempt… while the rest of us roamed around the property after our shared picnic lunch, checking out the 360 degree views over the hills and valleys of picturesque Toodyay – just wonderful.

A visit to the Picnic Hill Pottery if you are ever up Toodyay way is a bonus. You can always call into their Lesmurdie property if you don’t want to travel as fas as Toodyay.

Thanks Jeanette and Kim for hosting this great ArtEd sharing session.
